  • Drill with Various Drill Bit Sizes
Technical Information:

Toggle Switch:

- Toggle Switch Prong ------ FUSE ------ PCM
- Toggle Switch Prong -------------------- Ground

Wiring Pinout Number:

- High Speed Fan PIN# 46 (Light Green/Purple Wire)
- Intercooler Pump PIN# 82 (White/Orange Wire)
Before you begin doing this mod, disconnect the negative cable from the battery with an 8mm socket. The PCM is located behind the passenger side kick panel.

Door Sill: Lift up on either ends of the door sill and pull upwards.

Kick Panel: Pull outwards on the panel nearest to the firewall in order to release the plastic screw from the frame. Then pull backwards towards the rear of the car to remove the panel.

Step 1
Here is the view once the kick panel is removed. The next step is too detach and move aside the three wiring harness.

Wiring Harness: Detach the wiring harness from the frame. Takes a little effort and may require the use of a wide flat head screw driver.

Note: Disconnecting the wire harness is not required, but it does ease the task at hand.

Step 2
- Once the wiring harness is moved aside, you can clearly see the PCM in its secure position.
Step 3
To release the PCM from the plastic brace, unbolt the Gold colored bolt. This is the only bolt securing the PCM in place.

Plastic Brace Bolt: Use a 7/32" socket with a 1/4 mini extension when unbolting it. Once the bolt is removed, slide out the PCM by pulling it out from the bottom (The plastic brace is semi flexible).

Note: Becareful not to drop this bolt inside the frame!

Step 4
Now that you have carefully taken out the PCM, you will need to do the next following steps.

PCM Bolt: Use a 10mm socket for the bolt holding wiring harness to the PCM.

Black Shroud to Wiring Harness: In order to expose the pinout on the wiring harness, the black shroud must be detached. There are a total of 4 tabs to push on when releasing the shroud from the wiring harness.

Step 5
Here is a view of the pinout after the shroud is taken off.
Step 6
Remove a lot of the factory electrical tape. This can help insure that you will T off the proper wire.
Step 7
The following pinout numbers are the ones you want to T off from.

High Speed Fan: PIN# 46 ( Light Green / Purple Wire )

Intercooler Pump: PIN# 82 ( White / Orange Wire ) *

* Intercooler Pump Pinout are for 2003 - 2004 Cobra Models

Step 8
Find a very good ground location. I used the same ground source that Ford used right beneath the dash/located on the passenger side of the center consol.

Ground Bolt: Use an 8mm socket for the green ground bolt.

* You do not have to use the same ground as I have. Just make sure that it is a good ground source, since that is all that is required to complete the connection.
Step 9
Before you put everything back together, take a few minutes to make sure everything is working as it should be.

Note: If the switch does not work during the test, the ECT maybe required to be at normal operating tempurature. I have only seen this issue once with another car.

Step 10
Place the fuse where ever you can access it easily. Preferably in an area where you have easy access to them...just in case.
Step 11
Find any location to mount the switch. I placed mine inside the glove compartment so that I can maintain the stock apperance.
